You have a KLR as well? I'm trying to pick my first bike to learn on and am having trouble deciding between the CRF300 Rally, the KLR650 and the RE Himalayan 450. I'm leaning towards the KLR but I heard it's kinda big and heavy. Do you think it's a bit too big for a first bike? I'm 6ft tall and plan on taking it on gravel roads a lot and will be probably be dropping it often.

Right from factory, this is the BEST dirt road/gravel bike Iv ever ridden. Plush, planted, doesnt need trac control and the ABS actually works great. More aggressive tires would handle worse on gravel. Your front end is wandering cuz u havent adjusted your preload stiffer for your weight and u are running street psi off pavement. Drop the psi a bit and turn the preload nut to at least 3 to put some weight back on the front tire.

I am thinking of getting this one for my next comm unit. Can this be charged while using?

Lol, can it handle dirt roads? That’s hilarious. Mine has been over most dirt road passes in Colorado, and some reasonable singletrack. Not fast or flashy, but it’s a KLR. I love my ‘23 Adventure. Rode it at 85mph to Sturgis.

And i too like the heat shields that come on these! Man oh man...i hope empire changed the design for the 2024 concernng the speed sensor

I do mine exact same way. I have a big old laundry sink with a hose. For the water. Great info on the dillon powder funnel issue. I’ve had that issue brass do clean

Great video Squatch, i’m a fan of OCD reloading. I’ve been reloading for several years using a RCBS Rock Crusher and recently bought the Summit. Both have excellent runout but having to swap out dies is still a pain. I’ve been researching the Redding T-7 and I can’t find info on the bullet runout for this press. What has been your experience with it? I’ve used your method of processing brass and it is a winner. I’m one of those OCD guys that actually enjoys processing brass and your method takes out the guesswork of where you are in the process. Thank you

I bought their sizing decapper die in 40 and it left several deep vertical gouges on the brass. I went back to Dillon.

I just bought a 2024 650 S. 30" inseam and can easily flat foot the bike. However, the seat gets uncomfortable after 10-15 minutes. It felt better than the normal seat in the showroom, but out riding it is a different story.

Could you provide links or party numbers for the clamp/arm etc?

Are you planning to keep the 300 as well? I have the 300l with full Rally Raid suspension. No power type upgrades. I've considered the 450RL numerous times but would very likely be giving up my 2 stroke enduro bike to do so and keep the 300l setup for more light adventure rides. (Have a set of 19/17 wheels for it)

Fix the twitch. Install a GET SX-1 ECU! Best aftermarket ECU out there. Taco Moto set mine up perfectly. Smooth power that just keeps on pulling!

Looks like the majority of the issues are with the new priming system... seems like instead of sticking with what works, they decided to change it just to say "look, we innovated". I've had my 650 for 30 years now, set up for 9 different calibers, and easily pushing a quarter million rounds with ne'er a primer problem... had parts wear out, but the only thing I've ever had outright "break" was that same indexer return spring under the turret.

is that an IN-line ultramount?
